Fox DHX2 (2016-2017) Routine Service Seal Kit
 
This kit includes the seals required for a routine service on a Fox DHX2 from model years 2016-2017. It includes the sealhead wiper, oil seal, backup ring and thread seal; top out bumper; IFP seal; IFP cap seal; and bleed screw seal. If the shock is leaking from the adjusters or elsewhere, then this routine kit will not be sufficient. 
 
NOTE that if the sealhead was upgraded to the newer style (P/N 812-06-086), then the shock is effectively a 2017-2020 model year, and a different seal kit should be used. The sealhead this kit is used with is the P/N 812-06-080. Alternatively, the shock can be disassebled to check which kit is applicable. The white o-ring style oil seal corresponds to the 812-06-080, which is part of this kit. The 812-06-080 uses a u-cup style oil seal. 
 
 
Service tip: if the piston is held in place with a locknut, undoing this nut will break off the end of the shaft. To get around this, we recommend unthreading the eyelet and pulling off the sealhead in that direction. Note that this method only works with the 812-06-080 sealhead because the u-cup seal cannot be installed back from the eyelet end as the u-cup will catch on the edge of the shaft. Common failure points on this shock are the sealhead leaking oil and the eyelet developing a heairline crack where the oil can seep out. The eyelet failure cannot be addressed with a standard service and needs a new part.
